Confer Plastics turns 39 years of age this weekend. Thank you to everyone who got us to that point: Coworkers, customers, vendors, and community. Here's to another 39 years and then some!

ATLANTIC CITY POOL & SPA SHOW

This year Confer plastics will be attending the annual Atlantic City pool and spa show from January 23rd through the 26th. All of our products will be featured in booth # 3313 including our improved 7200 ladder as well as our redesigned PES step entry system and our brand new universal spa corner for our hot tub panel program.

Also featured will be our innovative three and four tread Signature spa steps. These steps are easy to assemble, maintenance free and are available in 36” or 74” widths. Steps come complete with 2 handrails and towel holders.

MATERIAL VOLATILITY UNDERWAY

Material prices are seeing a 5 cents per pound spike this month, which may be the first of many in 2012. Our proprietary clients can beat any potential price increases by ordering their pool and spa products early and often.

POOL ENTRY SYSTEM IS MODIFIED

Our popular Pool Entry System, the heavy-duty staircase for above-ground pools, has received a major face lift, its first since the product was introduced in January of 1997.

Many building inspectors have changed the specifications for swimming pools in recent years and this modification addresses that: Long gone are the circular handholds that could be found the length of the wall panel. Those holes have been filled in and the upper railing is now fully enclosed.

DAVE BASSLER RETIRING

At the end of this month, Dave Bassler will be retiring from Confer Plastics and the blow-molding industry.

The 72-year old has worked at CPI for the past decade, after having worked for the company in the early 1980s before spending almost 20 years with Airlock Plastics, another blow molder which, by the way, had been started by CPI founder Ray Confer.

Dave has been a real asset to Confer Plastics, handling many an electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repair in the plant while overseeing the parts ordering - and outside repairs - for all of our molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

We will miss Dave's knowledge, experience and, above all, Dave himself. He's always been a great coworker and friend.

We wish him well in retirement.

CONFER PLASTICS HOLIDAY HOURS

Confer Plastics will be closed Saturday, December 24th through Monday, December 26th for the Christmas weekend. The company will be closed again Saturday, December 31st through Monday, January 2nd for New Years. May you and your families have a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year.
